Mechanical Design Engineer (Part-Time / School Hours) - Surrey

Redline is partnered with a long-established engineering business in Surrey that designs and manufactures industrial instrumentation used in demanding, highly regulated environments.

Due to continued business growth and several exciting new projects, our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D team on a part-time basis, with flexibility around school hours for the right candidate.

In this role, you will support the mechanical design of new and existing products throughout the full product lifecycle.

You will create and update 3D models, assemblies and detailed production drawings, while ensuring designs are optimised for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).

The position involves close collaboration with machining, sheet metal, casting, rubber moulding, welding and assembly teams.

Key skills and experience:

• Degree or HND qualified in a relevant engineering discipline


• Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering role, ideally within a highly regulated or safety-critical environment


• Strong understanding of material selection, manufacturing processes and mechanical engineering principles


• Experience producing and modifying 3D CAD models and engineering drawings


• An interest in instrumentation, automation or other engineered products/systems

Working Pattern:

• On-site role based in Surrey
