Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer position is working with a market leading, international multi-million-pound turnover engineering business based in Huddersfield.

This opportunity offers both personal and career development within a market leading engineering group.

This is a permeant opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a forward thinking, industry leader.

The brand-new purpose built, state of art manufacturing facility is based in Huddersfield, making it accessible from surrounding towns and cities such as; Elland, Halifax, Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield.

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer



  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to keep manufacturing equipment and facilities operating efficiently.

  • Fault find and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to minimise downtime.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly and safely, ensuring production disruption is kept to a minimum.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage work orders using the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Support statutory inspections, compliance activities, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives across the site.

  • Monitor and maintain critical spare parts stock levels, ensuring the maintenance team has the resources needed to support ongoing operations.


Working Hours of the Maintenance Engineer
37.5 Hours per week rotating over AM & PM shifts:



  • Week 1: - Monday to Thursday 6AM to 2PM / Friday 6AM to 11:30AM

  • Week 2: - Monday to Thursday 2PM to 10PM / Friday 11:30AM to 5PM


I would be keen to speak to individuals who possess:



  • Experience carrying out maintenance and fault-finding on manufacturing machinery, plant equipment, and production systems.

  • Strong technical knowledge of pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general engineering principles.

  • Previous experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage maintenance activities and records.

  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures, with the ability to work safely in a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • The ability to diagnose problems, prioritise workloads, and perform effectively under pressure during breakdown situations.



In return, the Maintenance Engineer will receive:



  • Renumeration: Up to £43,050.15 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
