Customer Support Accountant

Our client, a technology-led business, is looking to hire mid-level Customer Support Accountants to join their support team.

They are seeking accounting and bookkeeping professionals interested in a career in a technology-led environment, to complement and grow an experienced team of qualified and part-qualified bookkeepers and accountants.

In this role you'll bring knowledge and hands-on experience of working in the accounting industry to further improve the customer experience.

You'll receive structured training and career development, while being able to hit the ground running in supporting customers.

Our client invests in its people, providing in-house learning and development opportunities as well as support for further studies.

This is a permanent, office-based role (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) with an initial training period of at least 6 months.

After the training period there is an opportunity to adopt hybrid working.

Skills/Experience

• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant practical accounting experience.


• Customer service experience.


• Can effectively understand new IT systems and technology.


• Experience with payroll Real Time Information (RTI), VAT and Self-Assessment.


• Understanding of accounting processes, supported by practical experience, bookkeeping and accounting software packages that are available to small business owners.

Core responsibilities

• Providing accurate support to customers via email, phone, and online chat.


• Effectively deliver training to customers who are on both free trials and subscriptions over the phone.


• Proactively contact customers to see if they require any assistance.


• Support the product teams by testing new features and/or upgrades to existing tools.
