Lead School Nurse (Maternity Cover) - Addlestone

Nurse Seekers are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Lead School Nurse to join a prestigious independent school in Surrey on a maternity cover basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nursing professional to take a lead role within a busy school Medical Centre, helping to promote and safeguard the health, wellbeing and safety of pupils.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide professional and clinical leadership to the school's Medical Centre, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, responsive healthcare service to pupils.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating the day-to-day operation of the school Medical Centre.
• Delivering first aid and responding to medical emergencies.
• Managing pupils' allergies, long-term medical conditions and individual healthcare needs.
• Promoting pupil health, wellbeing and positive health behaviours.
• Supporting safeguarding procedures and ensuring pupil welfare remains a priority.
• Providing clinical guidance and leadership to the wider medical team.
• Maintaining high standards of clinical care, record-keeping and medical practice.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will be an experienced, caring and confident nursing professional with the ability to lead a school nursing service and provide excellent clinical care in an educational setting.

You will demonstrate strong clinical judgement, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a proactive approach to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, pupils, parents and other professionals is essential.

Previous experience in school nursing or a similar paediatric healthcare environment would be highly advantageous.
