Financial Controller

A profitable, established software business is looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of its finance function.

The company builds analytics and communications software used by thousands of businesses, sold through a network of channel partners, and the large majority of its revenue is recurring.

It has teams in the UK, the US, Australia and India, and sits within a wider international group.

This is a hands-on leadership role.

You will run finance across four countries, lead a team split between the UK and India, and be the person the Board and senior leadership rely on for a clear and reliable view of the numbers.

It suits someone who enjoys owning the whole function, from the month-end close to tax and treasury, and who wants real reach across an international business.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and working closely with Group Finance, you will:

  • Deliver accurate, timely monthly management accounts and Board packs, with commercial commentary on performance
  • Run month-end and keep strong financial controls, with every key balance reconciled and supported
  • Lead, coach and develop the finance team across the UK and India
  • Own the statutory audits and the relationships with auditors and advisers across all entities
  • Oversee tax compliance in every jurisdiction, including transfer pricing and permanent establishment matters
  • Manage cash, banking, foreign exchange and intercompany funding across currencies
  • Deliver Group reporting and consolidation inputs, with intercompany balances agreed and documented
  • Support due diligence, corporate transactions and non-routine technical accounting

Who we want to hear from

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance manager
  • A track record of leading a finance function and developing a team
  • Strong financial accounting, UK statutory accounts and audit experience, ideally with Big Four or equivalent auditors
  • International finance experience: Group reporting, intercompany, treasury and cross-border cash movements
  • An understanding of transfer pricing and permanent establishment risk
  • Experience of working with or leading an India-based finance team is a real advantage

The role is hybrid, based in West London.
