Harper May

Divisional Finance Business Partner

A fast-growing UK wealth management group is creating a senior finance role at the heart of its largest division.

The group has grown quickly through acquisition and keeps buying well, and the division's finance lead is stepping up to become its CFO.

This role is their number two.

It is a forward-looking job rather than a reporting factory.

You will shape how the division measures performance, give the Managing Director and CEO executive-ready insight, and support a steady flow of acquisitions.

There is a clear route to divisional Finance Director for the right person, with a team of around ten in the wider function.

The Role

Reporting to the divisional CFO, you will:

  • Lead forward planning, budgeting and forecasting for the division
  • Define and track the performance metrics the division is run on
  • Produce clear, executive-ready reporting and commentary for the Managing Director and CEO
  • Partner senior leaders on strategy, pricing and investment decisions
  • Provide finance support on acquisitions, from modelling and due diligence through to integration
  • Improve planning and reporting tools, including Anaplan, and help bring AI into the finance process
  • Deputise for the divisional CFO and help develop the wider team

What does the right candidate look like?

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong FP&A or business partnering experience
  • Financial services experience, ideally in wealth management, asset management or another regulated, fee-based business
  • Experience supporting acquisitions through modelling, due diligence or integration
  • Confident with senior stakeholders and able to turn numbers into decisions
  • Strong systems skills: planning tools such as Anaplan, with SQL a real plus
  • Curious about how technology and AI can improve the way finance works

The role is based in London with hybrid working.
