Sales Engineer - Industrial

Our client, an established technical distributor specialising in industrial automation, electrical components and cable solutions, are looking for a Sales Engineer - Industrial in High Wycombe to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a field-based technical sales role focused on developing customer accounts, winning new business and providing technical advice on industrial automation, motor control and electrical products.

Key responsibilities of the Sales Engineer - Industrial job in High Wycombe:

• Develop existing accounts and generate new business across a designated territory


• Build relationships with industrial customers, OEMs, electrical contractors, control panel builders and system integrators


• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical products and solutions


• Manage technical enquiries, prepare quotations and negotiate commercial agreements


• Provide advice on product selection, cable sizing, power requirements and specialist applications


• Promote industrial automation components, drives, motor control gear, sensors, PLCs and specialist cables


• Maintain regular customer contact through calls, emails and site visits


• Work closely with internal technical support, Head Office and branch teams to deliver excellent customer service


• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to regional business growth

Experience required for the Sales Engineer - Industrial job in High Wycombe:

• Practical engineering experience and a strong technical aptitude


• Knowledge of industrial automation, electrical components, motor control or industrial cables


• Experience in technical sales, application engineering or a customer-facing engineering role desirable


• Understanding of products such as drives, PLCs, sensors, motor control equipment and specialist cabling


• Strong communication, relationship-building and customer service skills


• Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities and develop new business


• Self-motivated, organised and confident managing a field-based territory independently


• Able to work collaboratively with internal technical and sales teams
