THE OPPORTUNITY:

Get Recruited is partnering with a growing independent brokerage to recruit a Commercial Account Handler in Stockport.

You'll work closely with an Account Executive to support a varied commercial portfolio, combining client service with insurer negotiation and day-to-day broking.

This would suit a Commercial Account Handler or Commercial Broker who enjoys getting to know clients' businesses and working through their insurance requirements.

Mid-market experience would be particularly valuable, alongside a collaborative approach and confidence managing your own workload.

THE COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT HANDLER ROLE:

Building on your experience as a Commercial Account Handler or Commercial Broker, you'll:

  Work alongside an Account Executive to service commercial accounts, coordinating activity and keeping outstanding work on track.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage renewals, gathering updated information and obtaining insurer quotations so clients can make informed decisions about their cover.

  
  


• 
  

  Handle mid-term adjustments and day-to-day enquiries, responding clearly and keeping clients informed as matters progress.

  
  


• 
  

  Negotiate terms with insurers and arrange cover appropriate to each client's requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare and check insurance documentation, ensuring it accurately reflects the cover arranged.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain clear, up-to-date client records so colleagues have the information needed to provide a consistent service.

  
  


• 
  

  Build productive relationships with clients, insurers and the wider team, helping deliver reliable support throughout the policy year.

  
  

THE PERSON:

• 
  

  Experience as a Commercial Account Handler or Commercial Broker, with at least three years' solid commercial insurance experience.

  
  


• 
  

  A sound understanding of commercial insurance products and confidence discussing client requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise your own workload.

  
  


• 
  

  Clear communication skills and an interest in building lasting working relationships.

  
  


• 
  

  A collaborative approach to supporting an Account Executive and working with fellow handlers.

  
  


• 
  

  Mid-market client experience and previous Account Executive support would be preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Acturis knowledge and Motor Trade insurance experience would be beneficial, but neither is essential.
