Assistant Financial Controller

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to support the financial operations of a hotel in Munich.

This is a newly created position, working closely with the Cluster Financial Controller based in Hamburg.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, outstanding payments and payment reminders.
• Prepare, check, issue and correct invoices, ensuring contractual agreements and pricing are accurate.
• Resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies with guests, corporate clients and partners in German and English.
• Reconcile and analyse debtor accounts and guest ledgers.
• Record and reconcile cash income from hotel departments.
• Handle daily bank deposits, maintain financial records and reconcile credit card transactions.
• Manage hotel cash floats and petty cash, ensuring accurate reconciliations.
• Process and document cash payments in line with approval procedures and compliance requirements.
• Support the Cluster Financial Controller with operational finance, reporting and controlling activities.
• Assist with month-end reporting, inventory data and hotel statistics.

About You

• Experience in hotel finance, accounts receivable or a similar accounting role.
• Good understanding of invoicing, debtor management, reconciliations and cash handling.
• Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
• Confident communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in both German and English.
• Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider finance team.
