Get Recruited is partnering with a growing independent brokerage in Huddersfield to recruit a Commercial Account Executive.

With referrals increasing and introducer arrangements in place for 2027, the business is preparing for a busy year.

There are existing clients available to inherit, with the allocation shaped around your experience, any business you may bring and your existing restrictions.

A transferable book is preferred, but isn't essential, and the brokerage is happy to wait for relevant restrictions to expire.

For an Insurance Account Executive or Commercial Development Executive who enjoys meeting clients and building relationships, this offers flexibility over how you work and the support you use.

THE COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE ROLE:
As an Insurance Account Executive or Commercial Development Executive, you'll:

• Manage and develop client relationships, meeting businesses in person to understand their operations, risks and insurance requirements.


• Take on existing clients where appropriate, with the starting portfolio agreed around your circumstances rather than a fixed book allocation.


• Retain clients through attentive service, clear advice and regular contact, identifying opportunities to develop those relationships.


• Win new commercial business through your own relationships and prospecting, alongside opportunities arising from referrals and introducers.


• Negotiate with insurers to arrange appropriate cover and terms, keeping clients informed throughout the process.


• Shape your servicing approach: manage accounts from start to finish yourself or draw on the SME team for administration support.


• Organise your working week around client visits, business development and time with the Huddersfield team.

THE PERSON:

• Experience as a Commercial Account Executive, Insurance Account Executive or Commercial Development Executive, with evidence of retaining clients and winning business.


• Applications will also be considered from a strong commercial broker with new business experience who is ready for a more client-facing role.


• Comfortable meeting clients, understanding their businesses and developing lasting relationships.


• Self-motivated and able to manage your own workload, with a clear focus on retention and growth.


• Keen to work in an independent environment where the approach can adapt to the person and the client.


• A driving licence is essential for client visits.

If you're an Insurance Account Executive or Commercial Development Executive with existing restrictions, the brokerage is open to discussing how a move could work around them.

THE OFFER:

• Salary broadly £40,000 to £60,000, negotiable around your experience and what you can bring.


• Existing clients available, with the allocation agreed individually.


• A mainly office-based role, with one or two days working from home considered for the right person.


• Choice over whether to service accounts yourself or use the SME team for administration support.


• Flexibility over your approach, with high retention and new business the key priorities.


• Additional package elements open to negotiation.
