Are you a Head Chef who loves fresh food, leading a team and creating exciting menus without the late nights of restaurant kitchens?

I'm recruiting a Head Chef for a busy hospital catering operation in North London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of an established kitchen, improve the food offering and bring fresh ideas to a varied staff and visitor restaurant.

You'll have a Sous Chef supporting you and the opportunity to make a real difference to the food and service.

Salary & Benefits

• Up to £40,000 salary
• Predominantly Monday–Friday.
• Occasional weekend shifts.
• Established kitchen and Sous Chef support.

The Operation

• Busy hospital staff and visitor restaurant.
• Approximately 200–300 customers daily.
• Fresh breakfast and lunch service.
• Hot food counters and daily specials.
• Grab-and-go, salads and yoghurt bar.
• Varied international, vegetarian and vegan dishes.
• Around 11 dishes across the daily food offering.

The Role

• Lead the daily kitchen operation.
• Create fresh, appealing meals and daily specials.
• Manage and develop the Sous Chef and kitchen team.
• Maintain excellent food quality and presentation.
• Oversee ordering, stock, food costs and waste.
• Deliver menus through the company's catering system.
• Maintain food safety, allergen and hygiene standards.
• Work closely with management to improve the food offering.

About You

• Experienced Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up.
• Background in contract catering, healthcare, B&I, education or high-volume catering.
• Confident delivering fresh food for busy restaurant services.
• Experience managing kitchen teams and food costs.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and allergens.
• Creative with menus, organised and hands-on.
• Passionate about improving food quality and customer experience.
