Hours: 5 days out of 7 | Predominantly Monday–Friday | Occasional weekends

Are you an experienced General Manager who loves being hands-on, leading teams and running a busy catering operation?

I'm recruiting a General Manager for a flagship healthcare catering and retail operation in North London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a newly launched site, develop a team and drive the food, service and commercial performance.

We're looking for a real doer. Someone who enjoys being on the floor, understands the numbers and knows how to get the best out of their team.

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000 to £50,000 salary.
• Predominantly Monday to Friday.
• Occasional weekend working.
• Flagship contract catering operation.

• Established team and administrative support.

The Operation

• Busy hospital staff and visitor catering.
• Four food and retail outlets.
• Hot food counters and fresh daily meals.
• Coffee shops, grab-and-go and retail.
• Convenience store and self-service facilities.
• Occasional hospitality and themed food events.
• Approximately 15 team members.
• Seven-day operation.

The Role

• Oversee all four catering and retail outlets.
• Lead, motivate and develop the management team.
• Drive food quality, customer service and standards.
• Manage budgets, labour costs and financial reporting.
• Monitor sales, performance and profitability.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain excellent compliance and operational standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.
• Be visible, hands-on and involved in daily operations.

About You

• Experienced General Manager or Senior Catering Manager.
• Background in contract catering, B&I, healthcare, retail catering or high-volume hospitality.
• Experience managing multiple food and beverage outlets.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting and commercial skills.
• Confident leading teams and holding people accountable.
• Excellent communicator with strong client management skills.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable making decisions.
• Must be equally confident on the floor and managing the numbers.

Healthcare experience isn't essential. We'd love to hear from General Managers with strong B&I contract catering, food retail or motorway service operations experience.
