Area Director

Location: Munich

Languages: German and English

Salary: Negotiable

Start: ASAP

The Stage Is Set

My client doesnt do conventional hotels.

They build places with character, attitude and a little mischief.

What started as a small UK aparthotel portfolio has grown into a European collection known for design and atmosphere, and they are writing a brand-new chapter.

Their guests come to rest, work or escape.

Great beds and hot showers are a given.

What we're really after are the moments that feel memorable and slightly unexpected, the kind of mood hospitality that's gone missing elsewhere.

Now we need someone to take the spotlight in Munich.

The Gig

You'll own the commercial performance of our Munich hotels: every target, every pipeline, every deal.

Part strategist, part dealmaker, part relationship whisperer, you'll turn corporate travel, groups and extended stays into serious revenue.

You'll be splitting your time between both properties, so expect regular on-site presence (and good coffee) at each.

What's in Your Hands

  • Build and run multi-property sales strategies that hit (or smash) revenue targets for both Munich hotels
  • Own the B2B revenue number across both markets, with full accountability and full bragging rights
  • Balance hands-on account management with proactive hunting for new business
  • Find, chase and close new corporate clients, local and international
  • Grow market share in Munich through sharp positioning and targeted sales activity
  • Build structured account plans for corporates, Travel Management Companies (TMCs), Serviced Apartment Booking Agencies (SABAs), consortia and other B2B intermediaries
  • Go after every segment: corporate, groups, meetings & events, mid- and extended-stay
  • Act as the commercial lead across both hotels, keeping everything aligned with our wider European sales strategy
  • Team up with Key Accounts, Groups & MICE and the wider Commercial crew, while keeping ownership of regional results
  • Keep the CRM and our database clean, current and honest, so pipeline and forecasts you can trust
  • Turn data into stories: sales performance, pipeline progress and market insights
  • Be the face of both hotels at FAM trips, client events, trade shows and sales presentations
  • Keep sales standards, processes and account management consistent across both properties

The Fire You Carry

  • Serious commercial instincts and a track record of driving multi-property performance
  • Relationship-building skills that open doors, including the ones at senior decision-maker level
  • Negotiation and influencing skills that work across very different markets
  • A strategic mindset that can juggle multiple priorities and two locations without dropping a ball
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Comfort with sales tools, reporting platforms and CRM systems

Your Proven Track

  • 4–6 years' minimum in hospitality sales in the Munich market, managing €3M+ in annual revenue
  • A history of beating targets in multi-property or regional roles
  • Strong background in strategic account management and new business development
  • Solid knowledge of the DACH market and an established network in Munich
  • Deep understanding of corporate travel, MICE and the serviced apartment sector

What We Look For

We're rethinking what a modern lifestyle hotel can be, and that takes pace, creativity and people who like work with purpose.

If you're comfortable with change, fuelled by ideas and obsessed with crafting meaningful guest experiences, you'll fit right in.

You can hold a vision, you appreciate atmosphere, and you want your work to leave a mark.

Skills can be taught.

Mindset can't.

There's no single template for success here, just the right approach and a willingness to grow.
