General Manager – New Opening | Cocktail Bar

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 DOE | 40 Hours per week contract

The Role:

We're looking for an exceptional General Manager to take the lead at an exciting new cocktail bar opening in January! This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on hospitality professional with a strong wet-led background to take ownership of a brand-new venue and make their mark from day one.

The venue will have a capacity of approximately 250 guests, with a team of around 15, so we're looking for someone who knows how to create an incredible atmosphere, lead from the front and deliver an outstanding guest experience.

As General Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue, leading the team and ensuring everything is in place for a successful opening and beyond.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the venue opening and ensuring a smooth launch.
• Recruiting, developing and leading a team of approximately 15.
• Overseeing all operational aspects of a 250-capacity cocktail bar.
• Driving sales, profitability and overall business performance.
• Delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high service standards.
• Managing stock, ordering, labour costs and financial performance.
• Creating an exciting atmosphere and maintaining excellent bar standards.
• Ensuring compliance with licensing, health and safety requirements.
• Building a strong team culture and driving staff engagement and retention.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a General Manager within a bar, cocktail bar or similar wet-led hospitality environment.
• A strong background in beverage-led operations.
• A confident and hands-on leader who leads by example.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of driving sales and profitability.
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to motivate a team.
• Previous new-opening experience would be a huge advantage.
• A genuine passion for cocktails, hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
