Senior IC Design Engineer

Our client, a global semiconductor technology business, are looking for a Senior IC Design Engineer to join their team in Southampton.

Key responsibilities of the Senior IC Design Engineer job in Southampton:

• Define and optimise capacitive sensing architectures and acquisition strategies


• Develop and verify RTL designs using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog


• Develop embedded software for sensing and signal-processing applications


• Lead silicon bring-up, debugging and validation activities


• Solve complex technical challenges across analogue, digital and firmware domains


• Contribute to architecture decisions and system-level design


• Collaborate with global engineering teams to develop innovative HMI solutions

Experience required for the Senior IC Design Engineer job in Southampton:

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Physics or a related discipline


• Experience in digital or mixed-signal IC design and development


• Strong RTL design experience using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog


• Embedded software development experience in C/C++


• Good understanding of microcontroller architectures and embedded systems


• Experience using Python, MATLAB or similar tools for modelling and data analysis


• Strong problem-solving and communication skills


• Experience with ARM, PIC or similar MCU platforms desirable


• Knowledge of capacitive touch sensing technologies desirable


• Exposure to automotive standards such as ISO 26262 or Automotive SPICE advantageous


• Familiarity with OLED or micro-LED display technologies beneficial
