Interim Head Chef - Hotel - Edinburgh 55k pro rata

Immediate start for an experienced Interim Head Chef to lead a hotel kitchen through the festive season to January.

An established hotel in Edinburgh is looking for an Interim Head Chef to start immediately and run the kitchen until January.

This is a hands-on Head Chef role covering the busiest weeks of the year, including Christmas and Hogmanay.

The hotel needs a calm, organised Interim Head Chef who can step straight in, take charge of the brigade and keep standards high from the first shift.

The salary is equivalent to 55k a year, paid pro rata for the length of the contract.

The Interim Head Chef role

• Leading the hotel kitchen day to day as Head Chef from the first week
• Running service across the hotel’s food offer during a busy festive period
• Managing and motivating the existing brigade
• Keeping quality and consistency high on every plate
• Controlling food cost, ordering, stock and waste
• Making sure food safety, allergen and HACCP standards are fully in place
• Working closely with the General Manager and hotel team

About you

• An experienced Head Chef or strong Executive Sous Chef ready to step up
• A good fresh-food background in hotels, quality restaurants or premium pubs
• Comfortable walking into a new kitchen and taking control quickly
• A confident leader who gets the best from an existing team
• Commercially aware with solid food cost and stock control
• Available to start immediately and commit through to January
