GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Kettle Operator is responsible for processing Tremco Sealants and/or Roofing products by carefully reading and following the process order card.
The operator is responsible for area readiness to produce which includes safety and collection and preparation of materials like pails, drums, and other chemical raw materials.
One batch is complete the operator will test for quality, adjust as needed to assure specification is met by following written standard operating procedures, and then fill product into specified packaging and palletize pails or drums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using control boards, Human Machine Interface (HMI computer touch screen) or semi-automatic equipment.
Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met.
Use appropriate scales or measurement devices to add materials to the kettle as specified by batch process orders.
Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions.
Monitor control settings and make necessary adjustments on equipment.
Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.

Basic Computer Skills required (Windows Familiarity).
Lean and VFM (Visual Factory Management) skills and/or willingness to train.

Completes cleaning logs and notifies quality control for hygiene testing.

The role is based in the Barnstaple area, making it suitable for candidates Bideford, Braunton, South Molton, Ilfracombe, Fremington, Landkey, Chulmleigh, Torrington, Lynton & Lynmouth, Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Northam, Appledore across North Devon and the surrounding region.
Must drive and have own vehicle due to site location.

Main Responsibilities of the Quarry / Plant / Multi-Skilled Operative:
Operating a range of fixed and mobile plant safely and competently
Carrying out routine upkeep tasks including cleaning, greasing and refuelling plant
Following manufacturer and company procedures for all equipment
Completing daily machinery checks and reporting defects to the General Foreperson
Promoting a strong safety culture, including near-miss reporting and safe behaviours
Supporting additional quarry tasks as required by the management team
Working effectively with colleagues to help maintain steady, efficient site operations
Requirements for the Quarry / Plant / Multi-Skilled Operative:
Current and relevant plant operating tickets/ willingness to be trainged on others if required
Strong understanding of Health & Safety principles and safe working methods
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
Proactive attitude and commitment to safe site operation
Experience in quarrying, aggregates or an industrial production environment (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities for the Press Brake Operator:
Operating a modern CNC Press Brake machine with full touchscreen controls.
Reading and working from technical drawings.
Accurately bending, forming and shaping sheet metal to specification.
Completing quality checks and adjusting machine settings where required.
Working safely within a busy fabrication shop environment.

Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Production Maintenance Technician I/II/Senior/Lead is responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and operational activities in support of manufacturing, The PMT helps maintain an inventory of manufacturing equipment, hand tools, molds, fixtures, and gauges, including spare parts.
The PMT establishes and maintains a preventive maintenance program.
participates in new equipment installations.
The PMT will assist manufacturing by assessing needs, researching and evaluating new tools and equipment, developing fixtures, and shop aids.

Install, set up, evaluate and make recommendations regarding new/existing equipment.
Make modifications to equipment to optimize performance.
Coordinate fabrication of fixtures and shop aids.
Ensure that manufacturing systems meet health, safety, and environmental management requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Production Maintenance Technician I
Production Maintenance Technician I is the entry-level classification in the Production Maintenance Technician series and is intended for individuals with limited or no related work experience.
Employees in the classification receive on-the-job training and experience in the maintenance of process equipment.
As experience and proficiency are gained, assignments will become more varied and difficult; supervision become more general rather than direct.
This level requires knowledge and competent demonstration of the following within 6 (six) months of hire:
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems, knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, performing necessary equipment repairs, and working knowledge of hand tools and problem-solving skills.
This level requires the following certifications be initiated within six (6) months of hire:
LOTO certified, Forklift certified, Fall protection certification
The Production Maintenance Technician I will receive close instruction or assistance and is fully aware of the operating procedures and policies associated with the department.

Production Maintenance Technician II
This is the next level of the Production Maintenance Technician series and is required to have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience and working knowledge and competent demonstration of the following:
Solid understanding of pneumatic /electrical drills, grinders, routers, and motors.
Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems, general maintenance processes and methods, power tools, welders and machine shop equipment.
Solid problem-solving skills including equipment breakdown, performing repairs and installation.
Previous welding experience preferred.This level requires the following certifications:
LOTO certified, Forklift certified, Fall protection certificationThe Production Maintenance Technician II performs broader range of duties, proven skillset to fully perform PMT responsibilities, more technically complex tasks, expected to set an example of professional efficiency, and provide technical direction to less experienced staff.
The Production Maintenance Technician II receives minimal instruction or assistance and is fully aware of the operating procedures and policies associated with the department.
