* Hotel | Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaAn exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Business Development to lead the commercial strategy of a leading hotel in the heart of Madinah.Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships and leading the property's sales function within one of the world's most unique hospitality markets.
Success in this role requires deep expertise in religious tourism, government business and group sales, together with the commercial acumen to maximise profitability and long-term market share.The RoleYou will lead the hotel's commercial agenda, overseeing business development, sales strategy and key account management while building strong relationships across the Umrah and Hajj travel ecosystem.
Working closely with Revenue Management and the wider leadership team, you will identify new opportunities, optimise business mix and deliver sustainable commercial growth.Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the property's business development strategy to maximise revenue and market share.Lead, mentor and inspire the sales team, driving performance through clear objectives and accountability.Build and strengthen relationships with leading Umrah and Hajj operators, DMCs, travel agencies and government entities.Secure high-value group, series and institutional business while protecting profitability.Partner with Revenue Management to optimise pricing, forecasting and business mix.Identify new source markets and strategic partnerships to diversify revenue streams.Monitor market trends, competitor activity and demand patterns to drive proactive commercial decisions.Ensure effective use of CRM systems, commercial reporting and pipeline management.
About You
Significant senior business development or commercial leadership experience within hospitalityStrong understanding of the Umrah and Hajj travel market and its commercial dynamics.Established relationships with pilgrimage operators, travel agencies, DMCs and government stakeholders.Proven success managing high-volume group and series business.Commercially astute with a strong understanding of revenue management, distribution and profitability.An inspiring leader with excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
