To provide day-to-day commercial and/or contract management on major defence contracts, including being the main point of contact commercially.
To support the full project lifecycle, including request for information / pre-qualification questionnaires, tendering process, contract award, contract change, contract performance and contract closure, as required.
To support the sales team to develop commercial input into bids and proposals for issue and presentation to customers.
Responsible for commercial negotiations and closure of contracts between NPA, its customers and/or key subcontractors.
Key skills/experience required for the Senior Contract Manager - Defence, West Midlands based job:
Experience in a Commercial/Legal/Contract Management role, in either defence or a highly regulated environment.
A general understanding of Import/Export Regulations is desirable, but not essential.
Experience in evaluating, drafting, negotiating, closing, and managing the legal, commercial and contractual aspects of complex Contracts.
Experience of Contracting with/purchasing from Prime Defence or highly regulated Contractors.
Experience of establishing/managing strategic relationships.

THE ROLE:
Reporting into the Transport General Manager, the Transport Manager will be responsible for a high-profile & fast-paced multi-client transport operation in the Morley (West Yorkshire) area.
Management of multi-client portfolio across various sectors.
P&L responsibility for multiple client contracts.
Responsibility for circa 20 drivers, 20+ LGV & HGV vehicles + an office team of 3.
Training of Drivers to deliver a "White-Glove" value-added service to clients as part of their daily tasks.
Recruitment, on-boarding and driver retention.
You will be front-foot in helping to lead the operation - a big part of this role will be in spotting opportunities to grow revenue for the business.
Able to understand client needs and respond to them pro-actively and positively.
Management of P&L of approx £1m costs, SLA's etc.
Compliance and Legislation adherence.
Account management of clients - including regular meetings & communication in order to ensure a strong working relationship.
THE PERSON:
Transport Manager or Transport Supervisor ideally within fast paced distribution.
CPC National certification - ESSENTIAL
Demonstrable Transport P&L management experience.
Overall management responsibility for at least 15 heads or more.
Front-foot & hands-on leadership style - this role is very much a hands-on & full-on transport management role.
Able to liaise from shop-floor to Board level.
Client-focused person who will proactively manage client relationships.
Keen to leave a lasting impact and legacy on the wider business.

Engine Shop Section Leader Overview:
We are seeking an Engine Shop Section Leader to take responsibility for the efficient running of the engine workshop at our Inshore Lifeboat Centre (ILC) on the Isle of Wight.
In this role, you will oversee the building, refitting, and repairing of a variety of marine outboard engines, as well as diesel engines and associated systems, in support of our main IB1/D-Class & Atlantic lifeboats and launching vehicles.
You will collaborate closely with your workshop team and other Section Leaders at the ILC to support the production and maintenance of lifeboats and lifesaving equipment.
Your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the team and reporting progress at production meetings.
Leading and motivating the small engine workshop team, comprised of experienced Technicians, will be a key aspect of your role, providing them with advice and support to meet production
requirements.
