We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Accident Damage Estimator to join an established Accident Repair Centre in the Cardiff area.
This is NOT a trainee role, to be considered for this role you must be currently working in an accident repair centre in an identical role or have done so in the last 3 years.
You must have working experience of Audatex (or similar estimating software) and ideally hold an ATA VDA.
Key role and responsibilities as an Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor:
- You will undertake the inspection of accident damaged vehicles, assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair and time frames.
- You will ensure our work providers menu pricing schedules and repair methodologies and key information for each contract is being adhered too on each job.
- You will work within our guidelines to ensure that the workflow volume meets targets.
- Use computerised estimating systems.
- Liaise regularly with insurance and accident management companies with any updates or queries relating to relevant jobs.
- Contact customers to provide updates
Minimum requirements as an Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor:
Must have experience using estimating software (ideally Audatex)

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To carry out estimates as specified by insurers/customers ensuring that the vehicle repair can be carried out efficiently and that by doing so a satisfactory profit margin can be generated.
Qualified Staff - Your main tasks will be completed without supervision and include providing direct supervision to non-qualified technicians where applicable.

MAIN TASKS:
To prepare manual and computerised estimates efficiently and ensure that it conforms to the requirements laid down by the insurance company/customer so that customer care/satisfaction standards are always maintained.
Order parts (if applicable) ensuring they are supplied correctly, in full and in time for the vehicle's arrival, which may include returning parts that are incorrect or not required.
You are also required (if applicable) to check whether parts received from the supplier, are genuine, non-genuine or second-hand for suitability, before labelling the parts and locating them for future traceability.
To maintain a file of all estimates undertaken making sure that all work that is not automatically authorised is identified.
Ensure that any such work does not commence until authorisation is gained, following up on any unauthorised estimates and reporting reasons.
Once authorisation has been gained liaise with the body shop personnel and make sure that they understand fully the work to be done as per the estimate.
Alternately communicate to the body shop if, by agreement with the insurance company, the vehicle is deemed a “total loss”.
To be aware of and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and policies applicable to your position and working environment.
TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE The level and scope of technical knowledge will be discussed and agreed upon with your manager or team leader.

My client, an established leading manufacturer of components and assemblies for aerospace, petrochemical and general industrial markets, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Sales Estimator / Proposals Engineer to join their Commercial / Sales Team.
We would also be interested in speaking to Graduates with 1-2 years experience and a relevent qualification in either Mechanical Engineering and/or Business.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and review Purchase Order Requisitions from Customers
Prepare estimates from client's enquiry packages for review and pricing by the Proposals Manager.
Review client specifications & Prepare quotations
Liaise with manufacturing departments in the process of preparing bid documents
Liaise between departments and suppliers
Ensure you work safely throughout all activities in line with the company's safety standards and procedures
Review and analyse client requests for proposals (RFPs) and specifications to determine project requirements
Collaborate with engineering, sales, project management, and other internal teams to gather necessary information for proposal development
Develop detailed and accurate technical and commercial proposals, including scope of work, cost estimates, schedules, and project plans
Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards in all proposals
Prepare and present proposal documents and presentations to clients, as required
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and technical advancements
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain necessary quotations and technical data
Manage multiple proposal projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and submission
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience working in estimating and/or sales, ideally within an industrial engineering and/or manufacturing sector
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Have a good understanding of Welds, Fabrication and Stainless Alloys
Previous fabrication / welding experience would be highly desirable
Strong organisation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of business, both internally and externally
