JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Building Sciences team will participate in different projects with various scopes of work.
The Field Engineer is responsible for the organization, research, and documentation of cross-departmental assignments supporting the continued growth and operations of Pure Air Control Services, a Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.
division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the Building Sciences Project Manager with test and balance research, consultation, operations policy generation, and quality issues.
Adjust systems controls to settings recommended by the vendor, conduct measurement tests, and discuss system malfunctions with system users to isolate the problems.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams, including sales personnel and field team, to develop a scope of work and estimate the cost of a project.
Organize material and complete reports according to pre-defined standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Evaluate current processes and develop innovative approaches for improvement. Write and develop in-house training materials supporting the staff and franchise partners.
Contacts and communicates directly with all levels of company management, staff members, and clients.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Industry certificates are preferred but not required. Ability to obtain Engineer Intern certification preferred but not required. Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, including Test and Balance or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems. Familiarity with current building, energy, and mechanical codes and standards.
Understanding of Indoor Air Quality and how it affects the building occupants.
Understanding of HVAC design principles, including heating load, air change, and ventilation requirements, and applying different HVAC systems (Constant volume, VAV, 100% OA, ERV units, etc.). Understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals, including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis through construction documentation design, equipment design and layout, and duct and pipe sizing.
Customer service oriented. Proficient computer skills and strong technical writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Well organized and possess superior time management abilities to support several projects simultaneously. Self-motivated and self-directed while remaining a team player.
Ability to travel out of state up to 50% of the time.
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $58,000 and $75,000.

Specific Requirements: Establish and maintain professional relationships with partners, suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers. Review and plan materials forecasting and usage and ensure supplier understanding of PO requirements for long-term product availability. Prepare and submit the required documentation to establish credit terms with vendors and contractors. Monitor and track the quality of service provided and supplier performance, driving improvements in timely delivery, quality conformance, and compliance. Compose POs, verify availability, coordinate delivery dates, monitor shipments and back orders, expedite deliveries, and communicate status and ETAs to the team and partners to support target production dates. Maintain and update procurement data in the ERP system Ensure sufficient stock quantities are maintained to support demands. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or similar field; or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in procurement Demonstrated experience buying domestically and internationally, including knowledge of buying strategies, supplier relations, and cost control Demonstrated experience in demand forecasting techniques Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to accurately produce inventory forecasts Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to secure favorable terms and foster collaboration. The WTI Commercial Façade Foreman is responsible for the oversite and performance of safety, efficiency, and quality of the WTI Commercial Building Envelope business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete the Daily Hazard Analysis form and submit to the Supervisors as applicable. Ensure all project communication is completed prior to the start of any WTI project.
This includes but is not limited to communication with: Sales Rep on weekly/daily schedule WTI crew members to discuss scope of work and daily tasks The customer prior to arrival, upon arrival, and upon completion of daily work WTI Supervisor on safety, schedule changes, project and crew updates, etc.
Efficient project management to include managing crew start and end times, production rates, ensuring tools and materials are available to safely and efficiently completing the assigned project. Complete the project per the scope or work, design, and specification of contract and engineering documents.
Complete an end of day and/or end of project walk through to ensure quality repairs and address any items prior to leaving the job site.
Before and after pictures will be sent to the Sales Rep and information will be included in daily project status reports.
These items will include, detailed work performed updates, materials consumed, and supplies purchases are all recording daily.
Supervises, directs, and coordinates the scheduling and execution of projects in assigned areas.
This responsibility includes job start-up, job execution in accordance with contract specifications, job shutdown, and manpower scheduling, all consistent with the planned costs of the job. Manages field personnel, including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, and retaining the quality and number of production personnel needed to meet operating demands.
This responsibility also includes laying off personnel, disciplinary action, employee assistance, and handling union matters relative to employees.
Ensure that all WTI Field Labor will have a professional appearance and customer interaction while completing services for a customer. Responsible for the tracking and monitoring project inventory. Maintains highest quality on-site customer relations in projecting positive image. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with LEAN leadership in eliminating unplanned production interruptions. Work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Prepare capital projects for submission to management.
Included are costs, schedule, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and needed procedures. Serve as lead project engineer for approved capital projects with the goal of on time and on budget completion. Develop and administer a viable and visual Preventative Maintenance Program that reduces downtime and improves overall reliability of production and production supporting machinery.
Responsible for identifying capital requirements for the facility's annual capital plan and budget. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes consistent with MOC procedures.
Recruit departmental employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Analyze annual site utility expenditure and develop plan to optimize plant efficiency to reduce costs (ISO 14001).
Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
Integrate the plant PHA initiative with the appropriate capital projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. The Process Engineer will manage and commercialize new processes developed by the Research and Development department into full scale production within the Tremco Corsicana plant.
