We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team supporting autistic young people aged 16-25, delivering a personalised curriculum and providing 1:1 support.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 4:00pm, Immediate Start
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support, tailored to each learner's individual goals.
Assist in delivering a personalised curriculum that supports academic, social, and life skills development.
Help learners build independence and confidence through structured, autism-friendly approaches.
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, both in and outside the classroom.
Work closely with teachers and therapists to adapt activities and ensure learners can reach their full potential.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (autism experience highly desirable).

Ability to provide patient, consistent, and empathetic support.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to obtain or already hold an enhanced DBS.

Qualifications/Experience

Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
Right to work in the UK.
QTS or Equivalent

Experience teaching Reception or in a similar early years setting is desirable.

Our client caters for pupils aged 14+ years with additional needs, within their Foundation Learning Department.
Location: Newbury
Shifts:Monday - Friday 8:50am-15:10pm Tuesday - Friday 8:50am-15:10pm Monday - Wednesday 8:50am-15:10pm
Rate of Pay: £12.21 + holiday pay or £16.05 per hour Umbrella
About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant you will be working alongside a class teacher and fellow TA's including 1-1 support
Promoting independence
Indoor and outdoor learning
Liaising with parents
Supporting with break times
Requirements:
Availability to work 8:50-15:10pm
Experience working in a classroom-based environment with children and young people with challenging behaviours, including ADHD, ADD and disruptive behaviours
