The Role - Lift Repair Engineer
- Knowledge of various makes and models of lifts
- Completion of small repairs, both reactive and preventative, on all types of lifts
- Document and report works completed including pictures and any
recommendations
- Liaise with the office team to update them on the status of jobs and to report any
relevant faults/further works
- Problem-solving and working on own initiative
- Ensure a high standard of quality and delivery of service
- Creating good working relationships with clients on-site, always maintaining a
professional attitude
- Conform to and utilise best practice within health and safety at all times
- Contacting technicians or manufacturers when support is required with an aim to
resolve faults to the best of your ability
Minimum Skills / Experience Required - Lift Repair Engineer
- Prior experience in a lift repair position is essential
- NVQ Level 3 is ESSENTIAL
- Experienced in small repair works
- Must be a proactive, open-minded and motivated individual
- Being self-sufficient is crucial to this position
- Ability to work unsupervised and provide documentation to the highest standard

- Health and Safety Certification/Qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Prior experience in financial planning, forecasting and management would be beneficial
- Able to commute to the Newcastle area

Are you an experienced Building Services Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to come off the tools and learn how to use your wealth of knowledge to help others? Our well-established client provides a web-based software platform to make building maintenance schedules available to engineers in the field for over 800 subscribers including museums, libraries, councils, retailers, healthcare suppliers, and manufacturers.
They have offices based in the North and South but the role is fully remote.
Due to continuous growth, they are currently looking for a Building Services Engineer to join their existing team and go through a 6-12 month training plan in order to become a Technical Author.
The role involves the management and provision of advice to internal groups and members, the facilitation, writing and maintaining of technical publications, and the research and collation of Facilities Management and Building Services schedules.
This is a fully remote role and you can be based anywhere in the UK.
Travel to one of their offices for meetings is required occasionally, usually once per quarter.
Key Duties (Once Trained):
- Research, development and writing of service and maintenance schedules
- Continually review technical and legislative/statutory requirements, revising and creating maintenance schedules accordingly to align with changes in the industry, including schedule and task descriptions, maintenance actions, maintenance intervals and time taken to carry out listed maintenance
- The provision of advice to subscribers, members and staff
- Keeping abreast of relevant developments relating to the technical and safety aspects of the building services sector
- Collation and analysis of issues, trends and updates based on this analysis
- Gather information from industry and manufacturers to enable maintenance tasks to be developed for new equipment and sector specific requirements
Key Skills / Experience Required - Building Services Engineer:
- Experience of working as a maintenance/installation engineer, or building services engineer
- Happy to come off the tools and retrain into a new role
- A sound working knowledge of the technical requirements of building services maintenance
- Working knowledge of the requirements of Facilities Management, particularly in relation to mechanical installations
- Working knowledge of current regulations, industry standards and codes of practice
- Working knowledge of building handover documentation such as operation manuals, record drawings, manufacturers literature, and test certificates
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of experts in the Facilities Management and Building services sector
- Ability to interpret standards, best practice guides or similar etc.
in order to draft, edit and produce documentation
- Proficient in written and oral communications skills
- Proficient IT skills familiarity with the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat essential
- An enquiring mind with an interest in innovation within the sector
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Willing attitude and readiness to take on new challenges
The Package - Building Services Engineer:
- Salary up to £40k after probation
- Holiday entitlement 26 days + 8 Bank Holidays

My well-established client in the private healthcare sector is currently seeking a Facilities engineer to join their team.
As the facilities maintenance engineer, your role will be to maintain the building services, building fabric and all equipment in a cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with all current national legislation.
To maintain a safe environment for all staff, patients and visitors.
You will undertake maintenance/testing of plant/equipment, ensuring compliance.
This role is commutable from Solihull, Royal Leamington Spa, Coventry and Birmingham, with close links to the M42.
The Role
- Working as part of the Engineering team you will be responsible for providing planned and preventative maintenance, as well as reactive maintenance for all equipment, grounds and fabric within the hospital.
- You will analyse faulty equipment through to onsite repairs and liaise closely with specialist contractors.
- You will be responsible for identifying and initiating action, either directly or via contractors, on all repairs required, in the event of a breakdown or defect.
- You will input relevant data following PPM actions into the planning record system to ensure accurate records are maintained.
- To carry out or coordinate any minor alterations (e.g.
refurbishment, redecoration) to the building as and when required.
- Ensure stock levels of engineering items and consumables are kept at a satisfactory level.
The Candidate
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience within a building services or facilities maintenance position
Experience performing duties such as replacing or repairing electrical appliances or general plumbing or HVAC or water testing
- Must hold an apprenticeship or qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or building services equivalent
Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle is essential - Be a great communicator with a strong work ethic.
- Able to work as part of a team and also independently to ensure tasks are completed.
- Flexibility to work our rota and fulfil the on-call requirements (1 in 4)
