Job Title: Safer Streets Project Co-ordinator
Grade: £28.20 per hour


Main Purpose of the Job: Join us in an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the community! As the Safer Streets Project Co-ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in reducing crime occurrences within Lewisham.

Leading the implementation of the Home Office Safer Streets Project, you will ensure its success within agreed timelines and budgets.

Collaborate with various Safer Communities strands, build relationships with partner agencies, and engage with the community to make a lasting impact.


Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties:



  • Prepare, co-ordinate, and maintain project plans, reports, and Home Office financial returns.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring records are up to date.

  • Initiate meetings with key community groups and local business organisations.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners.

  • Provide project progress updates in various formats for effective governance.

  • Attend relevant meetings to update on current work and report on risks and opportunities.

  • Track and monitor project budgets in accordance with financial procedures.

  • Ensure realistic project plans are prepared and maintained.

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams and lead on prototyping and delivering innovative initiatives.

  • Build productive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.



Knowledge:



  • Practical working knowledge of project and program management best practices.

  • Knowledge of partnership work and Crime and Disorder Partnerships, especially VAWG and Anti-Social Behaviour.

  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience.



Skills:



  • Excellent communication skills - oral, written, and presentational.

  • Strong risk assessment and risk management skills.



Experience:



  • Substantial experience in effectively managing projects from initiation to implementation.

  • Experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships with senior managers and staff.

  • Experience of identifying and resolving key problems and risks in partnership with stakeholders.
