IT Manager
As IT Manager for this market leading company, you will be joining an established and successful SME looking to hire an experienced manager and IT expert, on a full time, permanent basis, based in Banbury.
This role will be overseeing a small team and will be office based, as you will be required to be visible in the office to assist the team, as needed, as well as being on-hand to oversee the IT infrastructure on which the Company depends.
The successful candidate will be a calm and collected individual who deals in solutions, not problems.
You will be a strong team manager and an effective “signpost” for issuing/delegating tasks within the business, as well as an escalation point for any queries.
This is a busy and varied role requiring you to work at a pace, whilst maintaining quality, valuable communication and excellent customer service and engagement.
As IT Manager you will be responsible for:
- Having full control of the IT infrastructure with accountability for backup, antivirus, security, and updates
- Line management responsibility of a small team, including a willingness to motivate and develop
- Ensuring IT supports the business of the Company and maintains positive relationships with all departments
- Working with the Sales team on important customer projects, including acting in an advisory role on a range of technical matters.
- Key business applications, providing ongoing maintenance and support, in a hands-on role where necessary
- Developing a methodical and proven approach to system changes and upgrades to ensure the business of the Company is not disrupted
- Recommending improvements to processes and policies in line with industry best practices and have the skills to successfully implement approved changes.
- Ensuring an appropriate and timely response to internal support requests from users across the Company
- Budget responsibility and ensuring all expenditure is proportionate for the size and requirements of the Company
- Managing relationships with external providers
As IT Manager, you must be / have:
- Commercially focused
- Experienced in managing a team
- Experience of management level delivery of IT infrastructure
- Naturally curious
- Keen attention to detail
- Enjoys interpreting problems and investigating their root causes to provide timsely solutions
- Confident to engage with all areas of the business and build relationships
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related discipline is preferred
- Professional and articulate manner
- Ability to challenge conventional thinking
What's in it for you?
