About the Role:
Company is seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Lead to join our Single Aisle Wing VSM team.

This team provides leadership and coordination to optimize the seamless flow of the end-to-end Single Aisle value stream, generating value for our customers.

The EHS Lead will play a crucial role in supporting the Ramp Up Project Leaders responsible for key work packages enabling the Single Aisle Wing Programme, focusing on material, information, and people flows.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Safety Culture: Drive a ‘safety first' culture within the team and act as a ‘champion for safety'.

  • Employee Safety: Ensure employee safety through competence management, risk assessment, risk reduction, audits, and legislative compliance.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the EHS team for guidance on EHS strategy, policy, process, and method.

  • Project Support: Enable Project Leaders and Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs) to ensure compliance with legal requirements, best practices, and policies regarding safety and health in the work environment.

  • Hazard Identification: Identify potential hazards in project scopes and implementations, conduct risk assessments, and prioritize further control and management of risks.

  • Procedures and Systems: Develop and implement local procedures, method statements, and systems as required by legislation, policy, or risk assessment, in coordination with the EHS team.

  • Policy Application: Ensure Company policy on environment and health and safety risk assessment is applied to projects.

  • Industrial Asset Safety: Support Project Leaders in ensuring all industrial asset installations are safe for operation, including PUWER compliance, risk assessments, ergonomic assessments, CDM compliance, statutory inspections, fire risk assessments, and impacts and aspects studies.

  • Safety Training Strategy: Implement and assist in the development of a safety training strategy that meets compliance, policy, and production needs.

  • Team Governance: Exercise strong team governance and improve ways of working through Project Management standards and principles.

  • Leadership: Demonstrate company values and behaviors, lead by example, and increase engagement, trust, and speed of decision-making.

  • Project Contributions: Contribute to the overall project lessons learned throughout.



Required Skills and Experience:



  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

  • Legislation Knowledge: Good working knowledge of PUWER and other applicable legislation, guidance, and best practices.

  • Team and Initiative: Ability to work in a team and on own initiative.

  • Communication Skills: Proven communication skills.

  • Documentation: Ability to write clear, concise, plain English documentation to a high standard.

  • Risk Assessments: Ability to produce suitable and sufficient risk assessments that appropriately balance cost and risk.

  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a health and safety role and three years in a manufacturing environment.
