Commercial Gas Engineer

A client of mine who is a Large Housing Association and Property Maintenance Company are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer on a full time permanent basis to join their Property Services Team in the Dorset area.

This role will involve carrying out commercial gas servicing work and heating breakdowns within our communal plant rooms and properties in accordance with prescribed work schedules.

As there will be travel involved, our client will provide you with a work van and fuel card.

The Role

• Carry out routine commercial service of gas appliances in accordance with current Gas regulations, H&S regulations and policies and procedures.


• Assist with the installation of commercial central heating, hot water systems and other heating appliances.


• Applying knowledge and skills to record and report on status and condition of central heating and hot water systems encountered.


• Liaising with both internal and external customers appropriately and promptly is key to the role to ensure those involved in your work are aware of progress.

We're looking for someone with demonstrable commercial experience and relevant gas qualifications including:

• CCN1 Core Domestic Gas Safety, now includes combustion performance analysis


• CPA1 - Combustion performance analysis


• CENWAT - Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters


• CODNCO1 - Changeover from Domestic Natural Gas to Commercial Natural Gas


• TPCP1A - Testing and Purging of Low-Pressure Commercial Pipework, not exceeding 1m3 (<1m3) in volume, 21 mbar operating pressure - NG


• CIGA1 - Installation of commercial indirect fired appliance


• ICPN1 - Installation of Commercial Pipework in excess of 35mm

It would be ideal if you also have the following qualifications:

• TPCP1 - Testing & Purging Pipework greater than 1m3 (>1m3) 6" (150mm)


• CDGA1 - Direct Fired Commercial Appliances


• COCNPI1LS - CORE COMMERCIAL GAS SAFETY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA PIPE


• INSTALLER/COMMISSIONER - NG
