Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer - Birmingham (Hybrid) - £55,000 to £65,000
We are on the hunt for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong construction background to join one of our clients leading the charge in the development of sustainable low-carbon design for projects across the private and public sector.


An ideal candidate for this role would have a background in healthcare, housing, or education related projects in both the private and public sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret client requirements and statutory obligations to design comprehensive building services


• Maintain detailed project documentation, including calculation files and correspondence


• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, company procedures, and standards


• Collaborate with internal and external design team members as part of a multidisciplinary team


• Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and schedules for all electrical services to convey design requirements clearly


• Review and verify design work, including that completed by Engineers and Assistant Engineers


• Conduct site surveys, commissioning, and testing as required


• Prepare budget estimates, cost plans, tender documents, and contract arrangements


• Attend project and technical meetings

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience within building services


• Membership of the CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers), or equivalent knowledge and competence


• Proficiency with software such as Hevacomp, MEPworx or IES

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Degree/Chartership (CEng) or equivalent


• Experience within public sector projects


• Ability to conduct condition surveys and write reports
