Wing Repair F&DT Engineer














Role Overview:


Join our dynamic, multifunctional team as a Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F+DT) Engineer! We specialize in delivering structural repairs and repair processes to support the fleet, tackling challenges to create and implement repairs for any damage, anywhere on the wing.

In this role, you will be part of an expert multiskilled team responsible for F+DT analysis and the justification of metallic and composite structures, ensuring the safety and integrity of aircraft.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform structural F+DT analysis and compile justification reports for repair designs using -approved methods and tools.

  • Collaborate with skilled designers to develop optimal repairs.

  • Create, compile, and coordinate engineering documentation to deliver the required technical data for repairs.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including offshore teams, and suppliers as needed.


Essential Skills and Qualifications:



  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant engineering experience.

  • Strong F+DT engineering background, preferably with aircraft experience.

  • Proficiency in analyzing aircraft structures using both hand and computer methods.

  • Solid understanding of fundamental F+DT analysis methods and ability to develop these methods.

  • Knowledge and experience with both metallic and composite structures.

  • Understanding of airworthiness regulations.

  • Ability to evaluate how repair designs impact the static strength of aircraft structures.

  • Skilled in choosing and applying appropriate analysis methods to repair designs.

  • Excellent computer skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.

  • Capable of working under pressure and ensuring technical accuracy, timely delivery, and quality within tight time constraints.

  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on sound engineering rationale.


Desirable Skills:



  • Familiarity with technical requirements for repair design.

  • Working knowledge of the Wing Structures of the fleet.

  • Experience with Finite Element analysis.

  • Proven problem-solving abilities.

  • Understanding of design principles, processes, methods, and manufacturing capabilities.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of both metallic and composite Wing structures.
