Science Technician

Integra Education are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a well-established Science department at a Wirral based school from September 2024.

As a key member of the department, you will provide technical support to teachers and students, ensuring the smooth operation of science facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot scientific equipment and apparatus, including physics, chemistry, and biology equipment


• Prepare materials and resources for lessons, including setting up experiments and demonstrations


• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, providing expertise on scientific processes and methods


• Manage the storage, maintenance, and inventory of science equipment and materials


• Participate in health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and students


• Collaborate with the Science department to develop and deliver innovative teaching methods and activities

Requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in a science-related field (e.g.
  
  BTEC, NVQ)


• Experience working in a school or educational setting as a Science Technician or equivalent is preferred but not essential


• Strong technical skills in scientific equipment maintenance and operation


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
