Geotechnical Engineer
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Collaborative Engineering: Deliver geotechnical engineering solutions for SURF scopes, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
- Site Data Analysis: Assess and specify site investigations for offshore energy projects, ensuring high-quality data integration into ground models.
- Foundation Design: Execute the detailed design and installation of various foundations, including gravity-based, piled, and suction-installed foundations.
- Advanced Load Analysis: Use tools like PLAXIS or OPTUM G3 to estimate collapse loads for foundations under complex conditions.
- Risk Management: Conduct geotechnical risk assessments, identifying geo-hazards and ground risk levels.
- Mechanical Protection: Design and manage trenching and rock dumping scopes, and perform seabed preparation analysis for product/structure installation.
- Offshore Supervision: Participate in offshore assignments, overseeing site investigations and foundation installations as needed.
Your Skills and Experience Should Include:
- Educational Background: Degree in Civil Engineering, Geoscience, or Geology with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
A Master's degree would be advantageous. - Relevant Experience: Proven experience in offshore site investigations, foundation design, and soil-product interaction.
- GIS Proficiency: Familiarity with GIS data systems such as ArcGIS and ArcMAP is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships and provide mentorship.
- Commercial Awareness: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet multiple deadlines, and understand business and client needs.
- Analytical Abilities: High numeracy and excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced global business.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Solutions-oriented approach, committed to continuous improvement and innovative work methods.
- Willingness to Travel: Capacity for reasonable planned travel and offshore assignments as required.
