Head of Partnerships - Charity

As a result of increasing demand for our clients' life changing support, an experienced, highly knowledgeable Head of Partnerships is required to join our clients friendly, supportive and ultra committed team in a pivotal senior role with a growing remit.

As a leading breast cancer charity now entering its 3rd decade, our client is a well-established organisation with an instantly recognisable profile.

Their supporters have helped to raise over £139m allowing them to drive their missions of supporting future health and well-being and increasing awareness.

To help drive the next phase of growth, an experienced Head of Partnerships with a strong charity background is required to develop a variety of sustainable income streams.

This will be achieved through identifying new commercial partnerships, new donor bases and liaising with funding partners and organisations, including corporate and business sponsorships, CSR and charity of the year relationships.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial approach and a proven track record in fundraising relationships across all sectors.

A clear understanding and experience of what motivates donors to give and companies to sponsor and how to maximise and secure those opportunities.

Key Responsibilities



  • Acquire solid knowledge of the functions and ethos of the charity, identifying areas that support expansion and development of existing commercial partnerships.

  • Prepare feasibility assessments, budgets and forecasts for proposals.

    Submitting applications to potential sources of income, within a variety of sectors, monitoring, reporting and maintaining detailed progress reports, all aimed at increasing income streams and the financial targets of the charity.

  • Create and maintain attractive corporate packages for events and the overall charity.

    Raising the profile of the organisation in all areas of the marketplace, to establish loyalty and sustainable income, meeting the needs of the company for win-win partnerships.

  • Develop innovative ideas for new and perhaps unusual ways of raising funds.

    Encouraging companies to adopt the organisation as their chosen Charity Partner, demonstrating their commitment to Social and environmental responsibility as well as supporting health and well-being within the workplace by encouraging active involvement by participating in charity specific events.




Skills & Experience



  • At least 5 years' experience in Corporate Fundraising / sponsorship at a Senior Level

  • Thorough understanding of strategic communications and marketing strategies

  • Ability to fully interpret the ethos and style of Walk the Walk in all communications and planning

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and inter personal skills at senior and on all levels

  • A proven track record in a variety of fundraising relationships on all levels

  • Experienced in conducting research and development in to potential corporate partners

  • Demonstrable experience of meeting challenging targets

  • A high level of proven success in networking with and presentation to potential supporters and donors

  • Candidate to be based within reasonable travel distance of Woking

  • Experience of dealing with serious health issues - desirable

  • An interest in or experience of the fitness and health industry - desirable
