Formulation Development Scientist

FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST | LEICESTERSHIRE | Competitive Salary

A leading pharmaceutical organisation are currently recruiting for a Formulation Development Scientist to join their facility based in the Leicestershire area on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Formulation Group Leader, you will be directly involved in the formulation and process development of medicinal products, covering a range of dosage forms including tablets, capsules, controlled release systems, sachets, liquids and semi-solids.

You will operate various equipment involved in the manufacturing process at laboratory and pilot scale, complete accurate process documentation in accordance with GMP, and have involvement with the transfer of technology from formulation development to production.

In order to be considered for the role, candidates must have a Bachelors degree in a related Scientific / Technical discipline and have experience in formulation development of solid oral dosage forms with knowledge of some of the following processes: wet granulation, dry granulation, fluid bed coating / drying, encapsulation, tableting and tablet coating.

Candidates must have previous experience of optimising manufacturing processes, working knowledge of cGMP clinical manufacturing and experience completing manufacturing documentation in accordance with GMP.


Any previous experience with controlled release, statistical experimental design, QbD or regulatory submissions would be advantageous.
