Mechanical Fitter

The Opportunity
Insignis Talent is currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join a leading, multi-national defence company on a 12-month contract.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing manufacturing and testing tasks within the mechanical department, adhering to product certification procedures, workmanship standards, allocated budgets, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Fitter, your duties will include:

• Certifying products in accordance with product certification procedures.


• Maintaining product certification and approval through regular audits.


• Demonstrating a versatile skill set, applicable across various tasks.


• Operating all equipment, tools, and measuring instruments related to the manufacturing cycle with proficiency.


• Meeting manufacturing build times consistently.


• Reviewing and completing all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.


• Upholding the highest standards of workmanship and product quality.


• Ensuring adherence to all procedures relevant to the manufacturing process.


• Maintaining a safe working environment.


• Adhering to a good housekeeping policy.


• Sharing best practices with team members.

The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong customer focus.

Additionally, they should demonstrate proven planning and organizational skills, along with flexibility and adaptability.

Required Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.


• A formal further education certificate, such as an HNC or an equivalent qualification.
