Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION



Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Trouble shoot and repair complex electrical and mechanical problems in all area of manufacturing
  • Perform routine preventive industrial maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently
  • Repair and replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Clean, lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluids, replace filters, and other maintenance functions as required
  • Record operational data on specified forms.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person.
  • Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Learn all jobs/products performed within the department.
  • Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.
  • Treat people with dignity and respect.
  • Conduct all business with integrity.
  • Adhere to Rust-Oleum corporation quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide quality activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Willing to work overtime as required
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical systems, both low and high voltage.
  • Strong mechanical background with knowledge in mechanical systems such as pumps, conveyors, bearings, rollers, hydraulics, pneumatics, and alignments
  • Ability to understand and work efficiently with maintenance parts software
