Position Details

As a Senior Medical Officer (Psychiatry), you will:



  • Deliver expert psychiatric care in inpatient and community settings, ensuring a consumer and carer-focused approach.

  • Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and innovation in treatment plans.

  • Mentor and supervise training registrars and junior staff, contributing to the development of future healthcare professionals.

  • Engage with families and carers, demonstrating advanced communication and relational skills.

  • Participate in the ongoing growth and development of mental health services within the region.


Job Details:



  • Permanent full-time or part-time positions available (up to 80 hours per fortnight).

  • Classification: L18-L27.

  • Salary: $210,332 - $266,677 per annum, plus additional allowances and benefits.

Requirements

Qualifications:



  • MBBS or equivalent, with eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • Proven expertise in psychiatric care and leadership within a multidisciplinary setting.

  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on patient and family engagement.

  • Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practices.
