Hamilton Thorne Ltd is a leading group of companies supplying hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, IVF clinics and the ART fields with hardware, software and systems for the safe preservation, storage and monitoring of biological specimens such as embryos, blood products and tissue.

Based in either Hamburg or Copenhagen, the Global Head of IT will lead the development, execution, and continuous evolution of the global IT strategy to support Hamilton Thorne's growth, innovation, and operational efficiency.



Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee the IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's business objectives.

This role will be instrumental in shaping the organization's technological vision and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global IT strategy aligned with Hamilton Thorne's business objectives.

  • Drive technology innovation to enhance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and implement technologies that support scalability, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.

  • Lead IT integration initiatives for mergers, acquisitions, and global expansion projects.

  • Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and software solutions across all global locations.

  • Ensure the security, availability, and reliability of the company's IT systems and data.

  • Implement and manage global IT governance, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance of IT systems and projects.

  • Lead the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and solutions to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

  • Champion the implementation of cloud-based solutions, data analytics, and automation tools.

  • Ensure the integration of IT systems to enable seamless operations across geographies and business functions.

  • Develop and enforce a robust cybersecurity framework to protect company data, intellectual property, and customer information.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place.

  • Build and lead a high-performing global IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver IT solutions that support business objectives.



Skills & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Progressive experience in IT leadership roles, preferably within a global organization.

  • Proven track record of driving IT strategy, digital transformation, and technology integration in a high-growth environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise IT systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and data management.

  • Experience managing IT operations across multiple regions and time zones.

  • Familiarity with IT frameworks and standards

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to solving complex problems.
