Accounts Assistant



We're recruiting for an established business based in Brackley who are looking for a confident, all round Accounts Assistant to join their small and friendly finance team.

With a team of just two in finance, this is a hands-on, varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working across both accounts and admin and is happy getting involved in the day-to-day running of the function.


About the role:


You'll be supporting across both purchase and sales ledger, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing customer and supplier queries.

There's a good mix of finance tasks and communication, so you'll need to be organised, accurate, and able to keep on top of deadlines.


Key responsibilities:



  • Monitoring banking activity and completing monthly reconciliations

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices

  • Chasing outstanding invoices and minimising aged debt

  • Managing the accounts inbox and liaising with suppliers

  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries

  • Submitting VAT returns

  • Providing telephone support to customers when needed


What we're looking for:



  • Previous experience in an accounts and/or credit control role

  • Confident using SAGE or a similar accounts package

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, can do attitude

  • Friendly and professional communication skills

  • Someone happy working in a small team where flexibility is key
