Responsible Individual (Leicester)

Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for a Responsible Individual to work for our client based in Leicester (LE5).

We are looking for a committed and experienced Responsible Individual to oversee and lead the operation of 2-3 children’s residential homes in the LE5 area.

The RI will play a crucial role in ensuring all homes provide high quality, safe and nurturing environments for children and young people, in full compliance with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations.

Salary: £65,000 per annum

Duties of a Responsible Individual will include:


  • Serve as the Responsible Individual in accordance with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • Provide effective leadership and supervision to Registered Managers, supporting them in achieving the highest standards of care
  • Oversee operational delivery, safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance across multiple homes
  • Ensure all homes meet Ofsted inspection requirements, with a clear plan for achieving or maintaining “Good” or “Outstanding” ratings
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, local authorities, and professionals to ensure best outcomes for children
  • Lead on preparation and response for Ofsted inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor and evaluate service performance, identifying areas for development and implementing improvement plans
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection standards are rigorously followed and embedded in everyday practice
  • Champion a culture of high expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement

In order to be considered for the role of Responsible Individual:


  • At least 3 years’ senior leadership experience in children’s residential services
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and regulatory compliance
  • Qualified to Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of managing multiple services or supporting several Registered Managers
  • Experience achieving positive outcomes for children and improving Ofsted ratings
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Full UK driving license with flexibility to travel across sites

Desirable:


  • Experience as an RI already registered with Ofsted
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant field
  • Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed models of care

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (on call support is required for this role)
