We are working with a dynamic and growing hospitality group with a portfolio of diverse and innovative concepts.

Known for creativity, personality, and excellence in service, the group is now seeking a Payroll Bookkeeper to join their team in New York.

This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll functions, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the organization.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to grow within a vibrant, fast-paced hospitality environment.

The Role

As Payroll Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for:

• Managing daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Processing payroll in compliance with state and federal requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handling reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger.
• Managing vendor payments and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Supporting payroll functions, including tip credit compliance and multi-location staff support.
• Working closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain financial accuracy.

Skills & Experience

• Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally within hospitality or a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems — Paycom, Paylocity, or ADP Workforce experience required.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Excel, and Google Sheets.
• Understanding of financial processes including AP/AR, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Familiarity with New York tip credit regulations (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
