SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £104 - £110 per day

Teach Plus are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry mainstream primary school in Hackney.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is to start ASAP and will be on a full-time basis.

The school is known for its inclusive ethos and nurturing environment, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language delay, and emotional regulation difficulties.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support, ensuring all children can access learning and make progress.

The school is well-resourced, with a collaborative team who provide excellent guidance and professional development for all staff.

• Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs


• Assist the class teacher in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)


• Encourage pupil engagement and promote independence in learning


• Support with personal care or mobility where required


• Contribute to classroom planning, assessment, and record keeping


• Manage behaviour positively in line with the school's policy


• Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment


• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

In this SEN Teaching Assistant position, you'll play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of children with special educational needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a primary school setting


• Strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g.
  
  autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties)


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• A proactive and compassionate approach to learning support


• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service


• Right to work in the UK
