About the role/school

Teach Plus are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry mainstream primary school in Hackney.

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with daily learning activities, small group work, and one-to-one pupil support.

This Year 2 Teaching Assistant role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with children in KS1, looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a nurturing school environment.

• Provide support to the class teacher and assist in delivering engaging lessons and activities


• Work closely with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support their academic progress and emotional wellbeing


• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment


• Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and display work


• Support children with SEND or EAL needs, adapting resources where required


• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in line with the school's behaviour policy


• Contribute to the wider school community as a proactive and reliable Year 2 Teaching Assistant

• Previous experience working as a Year 2 Teaching Assistant or within KS1 is desirable


• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and child development


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills


• A patient, caring, and proactive attitude


• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service


• Right to work in the UK
