COMMERCIAL INSURANCE UNDERWRITER

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Get Recruited are working with an established insurance brokerage who are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join their team.

This role offers the opportunity to underwrite a varied portfolio of risks while developing strong broker relationships and supporting the profitable growth of the business.

THE ROLE:

• Underwriting renewals, and mid-term adjustments across insurance lines


• Assessing risk information and making underwriting decisions within delegated authority


• Pricing risks accurately to achieve profitability and growth targets


• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders


• Negotiating terms, conditions, and premiums


• Ensuring underwriting decisions comply with internal policies and FCA regulations


• Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying trends and opportunities


• Working collaboratively with colleagues across underwriting, operations, and claims

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have experience as an underwriter within commercial insurance


• The ability to make sound underwriting decisions and justify them clearly


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
