Production Engineer

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join this world leading manufacturer of Human Machine Interfaces, based in Newark.

Reporting to the Director of UK Operations, the Production Engineer job in Newark will play a key role in optimising manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility.

Skills & experience required for the Production Engineer job in Newark:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles - Lean, Kaizen, and 5S


• Experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.


• Competence with CAD software (e.G., SolidWorks or AutoCAD) desirable.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability with a structured approach.


• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or related discipline).


• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.


• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 (or sector-specific equivalents).

Key responsibilities of the Production Engineer job in Newark:

• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S).


• Improve existing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.


• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.


• Identify and resolve production issues using structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.


• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, and risk assessments.


• Provide technical support to production teams and act as the engineering liaison on the shop floor.
