Social Care Worker - Carlow

AA Euro Healthcare is recruiting Permanent Social Care Workers on behalf of a residential service provider in Carlow.

This service supports children under 12 years of age in a mainstream residential setting, with a focus on maintaining sibling placements in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

The Social Care Worker will play a key role in delivering day-to-day care, supporting the emotional and behavioural development of young people, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual Care Plans
• Support the implementation of Placement Plans and Individual Crisis Management Plans (ICMPs)
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
• Support educational development (homework, learning activities, 1:1 support)
• Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
• Support and maintain sibling relationships within placements
• Maintain accurate records and complete reports in line with HIQA standards
• Liaise with families, social workers, and multidisciplinary professionals
• Participate in daily household routines to create a homely environment
• Work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, sleepovers, and waking nights

Requirements:

• QQI Level 7 degree qualification in Social Care or a related discipline
• Relevant experience working with children/young people
• Eligible for or registered with CORU (evidence required)
• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
• Understanding of trauma-informed care, attachment, and child development
• Knowledge of HIQA standards for children’s residential services
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Legal right to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available)
• Full clean manual driving licence (essential)
