Social Care Worker - Wicklow

AA Euro Healthcare is recruiting experienced Relief Social Care Workers to support our HSE clients within Intellectual Disability services in Wicklow and surrounding areas.

This is a flexible agency position, offering shifts across residential and day services, suited to candidates with proven experience in the sector.

About the Role

As an experienced Social Care Worker, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve the best possible quality of life while promoting independence, dignity, and person-centred care.

You will be confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting individuals who may present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, in line with HSE and HIQA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality person-centred support in residential and day settings
• Support individuals with challenging behaviour and complex needs
• Promote independence, inclusion, and community participation
• Work collaboratively with the Person in Charge and multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, safeguarding, and best practice guidelines

Essential Requirements

• QQI Level 7 degree (or higher) in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or a related discipline
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience working within Intellectual Disability services
• Proven experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour
• Strong working knowledge of HIQA standards and safeguarding procedures
• Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts
• Full driving licence desirable
• Eligible to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available)
