Key Responsibilities - SEND Teaching Assistant

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:



  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

  • Support pupils in working towards their EHCP targets

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities

  • Implement behaviour management strategies consistently

  • Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours

  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff



Requirements - What We Are Looking For
Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or within a SEND setting

  • Strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Patient, caring, and resilient approach to supporting children

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Right to work in the UK
