Salary: £47,665 per annum
Location: Dorset / Hybrid working available
Reporting to: Deputy CEO


About the Role


We're looking for an experienced relationship fundraiser to lead and grow our philanthropy programme across major donors, trusts and foundations, mid-value giving, and legacy stewardship.


This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to shape strategy, build meaningful donor relationships, and secure transformational funding that directly supports our mission and long-term growth.


Working closely with the Deputy CEO and senior leadership team, you'll develop and deliver a clear high-value fundraising strategy while personally managing a portfolio of major donors and funders.

You'll also lead a small specialist team, helping create a strong culture of supporter engagement, stewardship, and income growth.


This role would suit an established Philanthropy or Major Gifts fundraiser who is ready to take on broader strategic responsibility within a collaborative and ambitious organisation.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and deliver a clear philanthropy and high-value fundraising strategy

  • Build, manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, trusts, and high-net-worth supporters

  • Secure five and six figure gifts through compelling relationship management and fundraising proposals

  • Identify and develop new philanthropic income opportunities

  • Lead and support a small specialist fundraising team

  • Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to shape and deliver high-value funding opportunities

  • Oversee donor stewardship, cultivation plans, and supporter engagement activity

  • Monitor income pipelines, fundraising performance, budgets, and reporting

  • Support the development of legacy stewardship activity and long-term donor relationships


About You


We're looking for someone who combines strong relationship-building skills with strategic fundraising experience.


You'll ideally bring:



  • Proven success in major donor and/or trusts fundraising

  • A strong track record of securing significant gifts and meeting income targets

  • Experience managing donor pipelines and high-value supporter relationships

  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, trustees, and high-net-worth individuals

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills

  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing colleagues

  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work both strategically and hands-on#
