Electronics Engineer
Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of life safety technology, are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join their team in Cambridge on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and development of high-reliability electronic products, taking ownership of projects throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through to certification and production.
Key responsibilities of the Electronics Engineer job based in Cambridge:
- Design and develop analogue, mixed-signal and embedded electronic circuits for innovative products.
- Perform circuit simulation, schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
- Develop prototypes, proof-of-concept designs and support board bring-up activities.
- Define and execute design verification and validation (V&V) plans, including testing and performance validation.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and work closely with manufacturing partners.
- Contribute to product architecture, design reviews and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Investigate product failures, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support compliance and certification activities, preparing technical documentation where required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including software, mechanical, manufacturing and compliance engineers.
Experience required for the Electronics Engineer job based in Cambridge:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in an electronics design and development environment.
- Strong practical experience in analogue and mixed-signal electronic circuit design.
- Proficiency with PCB design tools, ideally Altium Designer.
- Experience in electronic prototyping, testing and debugging.
- Good understanding of the complete electronic product development lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
