Sous Chef – Traditional Pub with a Twist

COREcruitment are working with a fantastic traditional pub in North London that is looking for an ambitious Sous Chef to join its kitchen team.

This is a proper neighbourhood pub with a relaxed atmosphere, great produce and a menu that puts a modern twist on traditional pub favourites.

The kitchen focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients, bold flavours and well-executed dishes, creating a menu that feels familiar while offering something a little different.

As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to run the kitchen and maintain high standards across the operation.

You’ll be involved in:

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Leading the team during busy services
• Cooking fresh, seasonal food to a high standard
• Helping develop menus, specials and new dishes
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
• Managing stock, ordering and portion control
• Training and developing junior chefs
• Ensuring the kitchen is organised and ready for service

We’re looking for a hands-on Sous Chef who enjoys working in a busy, quality-led pub or restaurant.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef experience
• Experience in a quality pub, restaurant or fresh-food environment
• Strong a la carte experience
• A genuine passion for good food and fresh produce
• The confidence to lead a kitchen team during service
• Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen management
• A positive and organised approach
